Gentilini Robola 2008

Gentilini Robola 750ml 2008
Sku: 16541

Wine Advocate 87 points (Aug 2009)
The 2008 ROBOLA is, like its sibling, the Aspro Classic, crisp and invigorating, a fine Summer wine. Unlike its sibling, it has a fruitier nose, rather than those green, cut grass nuances of Sauvignon Blanc. It becomes increasingly charming as it warms up. Its fruit dribbles across the palate delectably, while remaining crisp and piercing. It may hold a couple of years, but like its sibling, it should be drunk as young as possible for best results. Drink now-2011.

Wine maker notes
Mavrodaphne grapes are bought from a single, high-altitude vineyard. Vinification and bottling is completed at the Gentilini winery. Fermented in steel vats and aged for 12 months in French oak casks. Dark red wine with layers of red fruit, spice, licorice and wild mint. On the palate, it is rich and complex with soft, round tannins and a long finish.
