| Estate bottled from Volpi vineyards on the lovely Colli Tortonesi hills around the town of Tortona. The vineyards are perfectly located at about 350 meters above sea level with south and southwest exposures. The soil is marl.
An unusual blend of Barbera 90% and Cabernet 10%. 13.5% Alcohol with total acidity of 5.6.
Fermentation of must for about 10 days in contact with the skins. Automatic recirculation of the must every 30 minutes to extract color.
Aged in Allier and Troncais medium toasted oak "barriques" for about 8 months, then resting in the bottle before release.
Potential 6-8 years of aging in the cellar. |
