Since its beginning in 1945 by Josep Arrufi, Celler Vinos Pinol has been dedicated to producing small quantities of well crafted wines. This tradition continues with Josefina Pinol and her son, 4th generation winemaker Juanjo Galcera Pinol. There are 100 acres of organically grown estate vineyards in and around the Terra Alta district of the Tarragona province. A high Mediterranean climate of hot days and moderate nights along with low rainfall produce consistently ripe grapes, creating wines rich in lactic acid with dark pigmentations. The vineyards are composed of slate with small particles of clay in the topsoil and small particles of limestone in its subsoil. Vinos Pinol produces well structured, well balanced wines year after year.
